A new competition model aimed at creating the most attractive conditions possible for clubs participating in EuroCup has drawn interest from across Europe as over thirty clubs have already been registered by their national federations.

The new system, in which FIBA Europe helps defray travel and referee expenses from the round of 16 on, has drawn a diverse and high quality pool of teams. Clubs from 17 different countries have already been registered.

“We’re looking forward to a really good level of competition,” said FIBA Europe President George Vassilakopoulos. “We want to create the best environment for basketball in Europe and helping clubs with travel and other expenses is a great way to do that.”
The draw for EuroCup will be held on the 5th of August in Munich, Germany.
