Yambol surprised Spartak Pleven at home

Spartak Pleven missed the chance to have an equal amount of points with CSKA after the first stage of the national championship. The players of Darin Velikov were overplayed in a real drama in Yambol with 75-73. That was the 8th loss of Spartak, while CSKA has one less.

Yambol, on the other hand is on the same 7/8 place along with their colleagues from Rilski Sportist. Both teams has 6 win and 12 losses, but the team from Samkov has better point difference in their games.

The hosts were leading only in the first period (23-21), but from then on until the same end Spartak Pleven was the team that had advantage. However, this advantage was not solid enough and Yambol did their best to come back into the fight and they really did. A minute to go the result on the score board was 70-70 and nothing was clear yet. Finally, it was Kyrilo Skumatov who scored 12 seconds before the last signal and bring the victory to Yambol.

Very good game played Vadym Reka who finished with a double-double – 28 points and 12 rebounds. Decho Koeshinov missed the game due to a cut hand. Stanislav Govedarov added 14 points and Skumatov – 13.

For the visitors, Hrisimir Dimitrov was far beyond his abilities and signed a negative record – for the 17 minutes on the court he scored the modest 3 points. The former national player missed the previous game against Sliven at home because of an ankle injury and may be that was the reason for his bad performance. Sasa Topcov scored 16 points until leaving for 5 personal faults.
