Lubo Minchev: It’s a big opportunity to work with someone like Gershon

Levski’s head coach Lubomir Minchev was chosen as one of the assistant coaches in the men’s national team.

“For me this is a real challenge and a great chance to work with a big European specialist like Pini Gershon. This is something very useful for me as a young coach and I’m sure I’ll gain a lot of experience working with him. I agree with Pini’s words that the coach depends a lot on his players. In one of my interviews lately I said that a good coach with weak players will achieve less than a bad coach with quality players. The coaches can’t win games on their own. The victories are a combination of lots of things”, said Minchev and he added “I’m really happy to be one of the assistants, but right now there are some very important games for my club. My thoughts are mostly there”.

Regarding Gershon’s visit to Levski’s practice on Friday, Minchev said “At the beginning I was very uneasy but then I got rid of that feeling. I warned the players before the practice and when he came everything was normal. At the end we said goodbye and that was it, we didn’t talk about anything”.
