Papazov: I hope Pini will be happy working in Bulgaria

“I really want him to be happy working in Bulgaria and this truly depends on us. I’m not surprised he has stated that for 48 hours he had heard enough opinions and rumours” said Titi and added “I’m very happy to be part of the team and to work with someone like him. I’ve always claimed, that the greatest feeling is to work for the national team so I have only positive thoughts in my head right now. However, it leaves a bad impression on me that this choice is being too much talked about. I don’t understand why this happens. Maybe it’s because he is such a big name in the European basketball. Pini is an extremely honest person and we’ll make a good team. I told him that everyone who works for the Bulgarian basketball really loves the game. At least that’s what I think. I’m also sure that working with Gershon will be a great experience for the players, too. God gave us opportunity to have him as coach of the National team and he took everything back with the very tough draw for our team last month. However we will fight and try to our best,” commented Papazov and he also said that working as Gershon’s assistant isn’t a step back in his career for him.
“I think I have shown in my work so far how important the presence of my assistants is for me and I’m certain that Pini thinks the same way. I don’t feel underestimated, no one forced me to do it, but I’ll reveal that as early as September we discussed that opportunity. I’m really thankful but I’m realistic and I realise that knowing him for so long is the main reason for him to choose me. I would do the same, selecting someone who knows the situation and whom I could trust. This is something new for him as well”.
