Defending Latvian League champion Barons/LMT has added a significant piece to its roster for the upcoming season by signing guard Kristaps Janicenoks for the coming season.

Janicenoks (196, 25) arrives from Fortitudo Bologna, where he averaged 8.8 points in nine ULEB Cup games and 8.4 points in 28 Italian League games last season. His best ULEB Cup season came in 2004-05, when he averaged 14.3 points for Telekom Bonn in 10 games.

Janicenoks returns to the club where he played nearly a decade ago, making his professional debut there in 2000. He has also played for Skonto Riga in his native Latvia, Euphony Liege in Belgium, Bonn in Germany and Capo D'Orlando and Siviglia Wear Teramo in Italy. Janicenoks is a regular member of the Latvian national team, taking part in EuroBasket 2005 and 2007. He was fifth overall in scoring in the recent EuroBasket 2009 qualifying with 16.2 points per game as he helped Latvia advance to the tourney in Poland.
