Easy win for Rilski sportist over Yambol

Men’s team of Rilski Sportist moved up in the standings and now is only win away from the second place and two wins away from the top in NBL. The players of Aleksandar Todorov defeated convincingly Yambol 93-74 and now have three wins from the start of the championship. Next week Rilski Sportist will play away at Sliven and then will host Spartak Pleven.
Today's game was decided in the first quarter after which the hosts managed to take a good advantage of 15 points, 31-16. Yambol managed to cut the deficit below 10 points at the break but that was all they could do in this game. In the second half the hosts dominated and didn't have a lot of difficulties to take their third win by 19 points at the end of the game.
Five players scored in double digits with Dragoslav Papic finishing with game high 21 points. The Serbian forward also added 10 rebounds for his first double double for his team.
Travis Peterson continued to surprise in a nice way everybody in Samokov with his performance. He ended with 18 points, 8 rebounds, 2 steals and 2 blocks.
Ivan Lilov not only scored 15 points but also dished out 5 assists. Branko Mirkovic scored 14, all of them in the second half, adding also 5 assists.
Yambol outrebounded Rilski Sportist by 10, 39-29 but made a lot of mistakes - 17.
Before the visit against Sliven in Yambol, Rilski Sportist will travel to Belgrade to meet Mega Hypo Leasing. The game is on wednesday night.
