Calderon: "Don't Count Out Garbajosa"

Jose Manuel Calderon would "put his money" on his Toronto Raptors teammate Jorge Garbajosa recovering from a serious foot injury in time to play at EuroBasket 2007 in Spain.
Garbajosa, who made the all-tournament team at the FIBA World Championship in Japan last year, was in the midst of a fine rookie campaign in the NBA when he injured his ankle.
The forward, whose performances earned him a place on the NBA All-Rookie First Team, required surgery and missed the rest of the season and playoffs.
"If I had to bet some money, I would bet on Jorge playing at the EuroBasket because even if I lost the money, I would like him to be there," Calderon said.
"But the most important thing is his recovery."
As champions of the world, Spain will be favourites to win the EuroBasket for the first time in their history.
They will begin their quest for gold in Seville on September 3 by taking on Iberian rivals Portugal, and then face Latvia and Croatia over the next two days.
